Questions

Questions couples ask us

Can we get legally married in Spain?

A civil wedding in Spain usually requires at least one of you to be resident here, so most international couples either marry legally at home and celebrate with a symbolic blessing on the coast, or have a legal civil ceremony in Gibraltar, about an hour from Marbella. Catholic church weddings are possible for practising Catholics, with a dispensation from the Bishop of Málaga. We guide you through the paperwork.

How far in advance should we start planning?

For the most popular summer dates, 12 to 18 months gives you the widest choice of venues and suppliers. That said, we have organised beautiful weddings in just a few weeks, including a sunrise beach wedding planned in a month.

Do we need to come to Spain before the wedding?

Not necessarily. Many of our couples plan everything with us by video call and email. If you can, we recommend a short trip to view your shortlisted venues together with your planner.

How much does a wedding in Marbella cost?

It depends on your guest numbers, venue and style. As a guide, our planning starts from €100 per guest, venues from €80 per guest, catering from €30 per guest, décor and styling from €20 per guest and our celebrant from €450. Our Wedding Brief gives you a first estimate in one minute.

Can you organise just part of our wedding?

Yes. Besides full planning, we offer on-the-day coordination, a venue-finder service, décor and styling packages, catering and our celebrant services, all bookable on their own.

Do you organise welcome parties and post-wedding events?

Of course: welcome cocktails, rehearsal dinners, pool-side barbecues and recovery brunches, plus guest accommodation, transfers and transport.

Which areas do you cover?

The whole Costa del Sol, from Málaga, Mijas and Marbella to Benahavís, Estepona, Casares, Manilva and Sotogrande, plus Gibraltar and the Andalusian countryside.

Which languages do you speak?

We work in English and Spanish, and Victoria also speaks French. For ceremonies in other languages, we have even found a Russian-speaking celebrant for a couple whose parents didn’t speak English.
